Can I personalize my cloud - own design, color, logo ?
Yes, this is possible with all packages. At Nextcloud you have the so-called "Theming" function. By using it as admin in the cloud panel, you can change the color, logos, login background,... .
ownCloud also offers a own design feature, please check the Developer info, adjust it to your own needs and send the ready-made design to firstname.lastname@example.org or use a ticket in the customer panel.
Can I use my own domain ?
You can use your own domain/subdomain at any time with all packages. You can either order one, or use an already existing one. Of course, you can also use an external domain or subdomain whenever you want. Simply set an A-record on our server IP at your registrar/DNS provider and you can access the cloud. EXCEPT in SINGLE Packages.
We offer free included subdomains: NAME.owncube.com, NAME.businesstogo.cloud, NAME.happyfamily.cloud, NAME.meineeigene.cloud, NAME.ichhabeeine.cloud .
How are updates carried out ?
Before a ready-made release we test the latest RC versions very carefully. New installations, migrations, updates and many more are always tested extensively by our technicians. After release we update our "update-addon" customers' clouds as quickly as possible. Customers without update addon, can update the cloud with the included updater app.
Can I mount external storage ?
Using the External Storage App, which you can activate yourself, you have the opportunity to mount Dropbox, GoogleDrive, Webdav, Ftp,...
Can I use encryption ?
One important encryption, SSL ( encrypted connection from you to the server ), is pre-installed by us, so your connection to your cloud is safe from the very first moment. The encryption app is very useful if you use external storage. More infos you can find in the developer docs.
Can I mount the cloud using Webdav without Sync Client ?
This is possible at any time. Of course, you can also use other synchronizing tools, such as goodsync, cyberduck,... . Sync programs by Nextcloud und ownCloud are recommended.
Unlimited users/groups and own apps in ADMIN packages ?
That's right. You can set unlimited user and groups, as well as use all available apps. The only exception are apps which require separate services, such as for example Collabora, Stun/Turn, SolR, .... These require separate software/service installation and are only available with addon or on Cloud VPS packages. Along with the addon you receive your own server, which works for you only, and which has Collabora and Stuf/Turn pre-installed with a shortcut to your cloud.
How long does it take to establish my package ?
The setup is usually completed in very short time, mostly within minutes. Setup duration depends on the chosen SLA ( Service Level ) , the SLA you choose indicates the max. setup time for your package.
Which software is used by OwnCube ?
We use the Open Source software Nextcloud und ownCloud. On our servers we use APACHE/NGINX, MYSQL, PHP7.x.
How can I erase my cloud and terminate my account ? Right to be Forgotten
You can terminate your service at any time, with only a few clicks in the customer panel at MY SERVICES. Subsequently, please send a ticket to our support team, which will then delete your account and all your provided data.
Can i have SSH access with admin packages ?
SSH is only possible with our server packages.
Why are there different SLAs?
We hear this question many times and we will gladly explain it.
We do not differentiate between private and business customers in the packages, as it is handled in other services (private packages / company packages separately).
When it comes to business/corporate use, however, it makes a huge difference in the resource usage of our servers, due to many users, apps, syncs, ..., and thus fewer accounts per server can be set up.
For this reason, we differentiate customer accounts from the booked SLA, which we also refer to on our package pages in the information box.
There you will also find a link to our complete SLA details, which of course are also linked in the footer separately.
OwnCube had initially separated the packages, but the website was too full with the large number of different services and the classification was changed to the SLA's after a few weeks.
