OwnCube was established in March 2012 under the company name OwnCube e.U.
OwnCube offers a new open source solution for cloud storage, which is situated in the EU and which is not liable to any U.S. conventions or laws.
OwnCube focuses on the open source product ownCloud and Nextcloud, which is now available as version 10 for owncloud and 20 for nextcloud and which offers a broad variety of functions and programs. With our company OwnCube we want to offer an alternative to individuals as well as companies who simply don't feel at ease with U.S. providers and who are worried about what may happen to their data. Our customers are notable companies from all over the world as well as a mass-market of individuals.
In 2019 we started our first tests for our web conference solutions. After more than 6 months in a test run with different schools, companies, ... we will officially have the packages in May. 2020 offered on the website. The web conference solutions are very popular and we count many new, large schools and universities among our customers.
Our main data center is located in Germany in the Hetzner Online server centers.

A contract for order processing (AV contract) according to Art. 28 GDPR can be concluded online in the customer panel.
The Hetzner Online data center, in which we host our servers, is certified according to DIN ISO / IEC 27001 and draws its electricity from renewable energy (GREEN ENERGY).
